Hat contest 2014
The theme of the NHV Hoedenwedstrijd 2014 was 'Fairytales'. About fifty hat designers have dived into the fairy tale books and have thus been inspired by an original design for the NHV hat contest 2014.
The winning designs
The result was shown on Saturday 22 November 2014 during a whirling hat show. After the show, the chairman of the professional jury announced the nominees and the winners of the NHV Vakprijs 2014.

But visitors could also decide what the most beautiful creation of this competition was. After the opening show visitors could view all displayed designs extensively and then cast a vote on one of the hats.
Those who were not present at the show were able to let Facebook know which model was best on the NHV Facebook page to give a 'like' to one or more favorite designs.
Votes could 13 until 2014 December. The ten designs that had received the most votes on Facebook at that time were awarded points. The hat with the most votes got 10 points, number two 9 points, etc. The same was true for the votes that were released at the exposition in Gorinchem. The points of Facebook and the points of the exhibition in Gorinchem are then added together, after which it is determined which hat has collected the most points.
The winner of the Audience Award will be announced in number 48 of the HoedenNieuws. The prize itself will be presented at the General Members' Meeting in March 2015.
