About the NHV
The Dutch Hats Association (NHV) has been active since 2004.
The aim of the association is to bring the hat back to the fashion image, to promote the professionalism of the hat trade and the professionalization of hat makers
In this unique association, such 300 members find each other from different backgrounds:
- people who are occupied on a professional and professional basis with all kinds of facets of the hat
- people who make hats as a hobby
- those interested in the hat
What are we doing?
The NHV wants to serve as a platform for all these members in particular. On the one hand by paying attention to training and on the other hand by organizing competitions, social events, etc.
An example of an event organized by NHV is the annual one NHV Hat Day. With this type of event, the hat is central and members, and everyone who is interested in the hat, have the opportunity to exchange knowledge, skills and ideas in the field of hats and hats.
Contests and Exhibitions
By organizing competitions and exhibitions, the NHV wants to profile and promote the hat within the fashion industry. In 2006 the start was made with a series of annual ones hat competitions.
In recent years, a different theme has been chosen for this competition, which also includes an exhibition. Every year a 10 hat is nominated by a professional jury (varying in composition). A winner is chosen from the nominees who receives the silver hat pin. There is also an audience award, in which the audience judges which hat of all entries is most appealing.
The entries will be presented during a hat show, after which the winning designs will be announced.
Hatlines is the glossy magazine of the NHV that appears four times a year and receives all members. In the Hatlines you can read all about activities of the Dutch Hats Association, tips and techniques, interviews, photo reports of hat events, etc.
