Workshop using knitted wire as a base for bridal headbands

Denise has worked for top bridalwear designers Suzanne Neville, Tracy Connup, Jayne Boulton and Ben De Lisi. Denise is a Dexterity skills tutor for the Brain Charity Liverpool and a regular visiting lecturer for Liverpool John Moores University. Denise is well equipped to take you through the intricate ways of making delicate beautiful designs with this versatile fabric. Denise is generous with her knowledge and encourages open discussion in the class. You will receive handouts and photos of the examples, details of suppliers and other options, and an unparalleled experience.

 

Denise shows you how to make a wired headband or headdress. Bridal headdresses are beautiful, until you look at the back and the multiple wires and a messy finish. With bridal headbands, a hair vines and headdress their wires can all be concealed using the tricks and tips that Denise has used for years. She has written a book on it.

Denise shares her unique techniques and ways of using knitted wire fabric, wires, and decorative beads for a beautiful headdress or hair adornment.

  • Needles for use on wire (blunt millinery needles work well),
  • Wire cutters/ craft scissors,
  • Plier’s round nosed and Teflon flat,
  • Zote foam mat (kids foam mat A4 size only),
  • Uhu all purpose glue (2 cocktail sticks to apply glue with).
